The Basic Goodness of Superman

Deconstructing from a cult that lacks empathy can be devastating but basic kindness can lead the way

Superman has warmed parts of my heart that I thought were gone. I genuinely hope some people can wake up from the current cult of cruelty. If you think Superman's kindness, compassion, and desire to protect human life are bad, I ask you to think it through. Perhaps you are in a cult that hates empathy. Is Superman's kindness and desire to save lives a bad thing? Or was Superman always kind in the comics when you were a child, when you liked superheroes?

If you elected a known predator as president, who was friends with Jeffrey Epstein for a long time, and traveled to his island, but you are upset when this president won't release the Epstein files, consider that he might not release them because he's hiding the evidence, having always been a part of it all along.

Maybe your choice in a candidate - the narcissism, the greed, the corruption, the attraction to his daughter, the walking in on beauty pageant dressing rooms, the felonies, the absurd tariffs, the cruel polices, and the inability to tell the truth or handle any critique - could be a sign you are in a cult - a cult that told you it was your religious duty to vote for a man who is anti all the things that Christ was.

If you are rooting for war and are on the side of a UN member state with a vast army and high-tech weapons that violate all international laws, that kill unarmed civilians ( 50% whom are children), perhaps you are brainwashed into rooting for the wrong guys. Possibly, Nationalism under any religious guise is still just murder and wrong.

The Fox News propaganda machine has convinced a lot of people that a corrupt billionaire is their religious defender when he is just the guy behind the curtain. He is the guy who pretends to be the Wizard of Oz, using spectacle and scapegoating (of migrants and immigrants) to keep the people under control. He is a puppet who cares about the safety, prosperity, and reputation of one person: himself.

I know you may think I am in a cult because I want good for everyone, but maybe you are in a cult because you believe a concentration camp surrounded by alligators is a good thing. MAGA is a cult. Deconstructing from cults is painful, it is humbling, but it is worth keeping your soul, your humanity, and your peace. To paraphrase the Superman movie (without spoilers): maybe kindness, empathy, and hope were the right path all along
